The Furnishing Touch — The Furnishing Touch is an exhibit which tells the history of American home furnishings, in miniature. Home furnishing styles were influenced by functional demands, means of production and lifestyle behavior of the time. The exhibit traces styles from the 1600s-present. The exhibit will also feature three speakers who will deliver presentations on furniture and domestic life. Jan. 25-May 28, Wednesday-Sunday. Prairie Tykes: Happy Hibernating — Young children will find out what animals do in the winter as they search for animal tracks and find their shadows. Prairie Tykes events often include a take-home craft as well. Kids must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian. DIY Reversible Blocks Project — This January, Billericay Park has a brand new program that can help you decorate for every occasion. Adults 18 and older are invited to create a very festive DIY project that includes decorated blocks, with each side displaying a different decoration. By learning the basics of hand blacksmithing and bench-work techniques, including tending a fire, drawing out, upsetting, welding, file work and finishing work, you’ll complete a series of simple projects such as hooks, chain links, cooking utensils and blacksmith tongs.
