Obituary: Brenda Mary Azman

Brenda Mary Azman, 80, Westfield, died Feb. 25. She was born April 13, 1935 to Thomas and Helen (McCarthy) Mulvany in Providence, R.I.

Brenda was a designer seamstress and also loved ironing children’s clothing for St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and member of The Altar and Rosary Society, Words of Grace Book Club and 55ers. Brenda’s passion was volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store where she would personally wash, iron and tag each item in the children’s department. She also was in charge of the Advent giving tree and the Birthright baby shower at church. In addition to all of her volunteering, Brenda also worked at the Noblesville Library until she was diagnosed. She was an active volunteer for many causes and was constantly giving to others even if just a smile. Constantly doing for others instead of herself. Brenda was everyone’s friend.

She loved to travel and was well known for her love of Disney World. Brenda lived in many places during her life including Rhode Island, the Texas Gulf Coast, California, Chicago, London, Cairo, Denver and Cleveland before making Indianapolis her home for the past 21 years.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome “Coke” Azman, and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Ziggy.

She is survived by her brother, Dennis J. (Mavis) Mulvany; children, Brian (Nitamarie) Azman, Mary Azman, Ann Kristen (Jamin) McNeil and Mark (Chrissy) Azman; and six grandchildren, Adam (Sarah) Azman, Andrew Azman, Shawn Azman, Kegan McNeil, Jared McNeil and Vesna Azman. Brenda is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Azman; her sister-in-law, Kaye (Gene) Ivnik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
