Michael Meneghini, MD, IU Health Saxoyn Hospital director of joint replacement and associate professor of clinical orthopedic surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine, will discuss strategies and surgical techniques in joint replacement, including the latest technology in biomaterials, computer navigation and other treatment options to ease joint pain. A light meal will be served and a question and answer session will follow.

While the cause of joint pain differs, often times lifestyle changes and medicines can ease pain and reduce swelling. However, these techniques will not restore cartilage, tissue or bone. With conservative treatment, if pain continues and interferes or limits participation in activities, it may be time to consider joint replacement surgery.
