Zionsville Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director Lin Moormann expects this year’s Zionsville golf open will inspire not only networking but community camaraderie.
Along with the chamber’s other events that it conducts throughout the year, the 2019 Zionsville Golf Open will enable the chamber to continue to provide community programs and collect funds it needs to operate.
“It’s a good way for our members to get together on a more casual level and spend the day together,” Moormann said.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. June 27 at The Golf Club of Indiana, 6905 S. 525 E. For members, the cost per person is $150 or $500 for a team. Non-members will be charged $175 per person and $600 per team for the 18 holes of golf.
The chamber’s business breakfasts give members a chance to meet on a monthly basis, but only for a few hours at a time, and they don’t get to spend as much time together as they would like, Moormann said.
“I think it’s a community that likes to get to know each other,” Moormann said. “I think they enjoy maybe catching up with someone they haven’t seen because maybe they can’t get to our regular monthly events, but for this they can block out some time on their calendar and make time to meet up with folks.”
Chamber officials want to entice more members to come who don’t necessarily want to play golf by hosting an after-party with live entertainment and awarding prizes for non-performance-based achievements, such as best team name and best team outfit.
