Early edition next week – The Jan. 1, 2019 edition of Current in Zionsville will be delivered on Dec. 29.

Moontown New Year’s Eve celebration – Moontown Brewing Company will host a New Year’s Eve party from 8 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1. There will be live soul music by the Chamber Music Band. Tickets are $20 and each and an appetizer buffet plus midnight champagne toast will be included with each ticket. This event is for persons 21 and over. Noon Year Dance Party – Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library will host a preschool dance party to ring in the new year, Jan. 2 from 11:30 a.m. until noon. The dance party is for children ages 3-6. To register, visit zionsvillelibrary.org.

French program at ZCS – Registration is open for second semester for L’Ecole Française. After school French classes are offered at Zionsville elementary schools and before school at Zionsville Middle School and Zionsville West Middle School. Art IN Hand Gallery to feature student artwork – Art IN Hand Gallery, 211 S..Main Street in Zionsville, will feature student artwork from Brownsburg High School.  Lori Taylor-Woodcock is a BHS art teacher and an artist at Art in Hand Gallery. The next “Art After Five” First Friday event will be Jan. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.  Stop by for light refreshments and to view the artwork.

5K walk/run for diabetes – On Feb. 16, 2019, Zionsville Lions Club will host a Strides Heart for Diabetes 5k Run/Walk, a fundraiser for diabetes awareness. Nearly $300M in new Boone County investment in 2018 – The Boone County Economic Development Corporation announced Dec. 19 that 16 companies chose to expand or locate in Boone County in 2018. These companies anticipate hiring more than 1,300 people and investing more than $279 million in the community over the next few years. These deals are expected to bring a tax impact of more than $18 million.

120WaterAudit selected for ImagineH20 Accelerator – Zionsville-based 120WaterAudit has been selected to participate in the ImagineH20 accelerator program, which empowers firms to develop and deploy innovative global water solutions. 120WaterAudit is among 13 companies selected from five different countries. The selection process included more than 250 applicants across the world and an independent panel of 30 judges to review and evaluate applicants for high potential companies within the water sector.

Lids Sports Group sold – Zionsville-based retailer Lids has been sold by its parent company Genesco to FanzzLids Holdings, a holding company operated by affiliate of Ames Watson Capital, for $100 million cash. The Maryland-based company also owns sports retailer Fanzz. The deal is expected to close in early 2019.

Price to Join State Bank of Lizton Board of Directors – Matt Price, a Zionsville native and managing partner of the Indianapolis Office of Bingham, Greenebaum Doll LLP, was appointed to the State Bank of Lizton Board of Directors Nov. 21. Mike Baker, State Bank of Lizton president and CEO, announced the appointment Dec. 11.
