Indianapolis man killed in Oak Street accident


An Indianapolis man died in a head-on crash Dec. 16 in Zionsville.

Boone County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement and emergency responders were dispatched to the 7600 block of Oak Street at 1:42 p.m. Dec. 16 on the report of a head-on collision involving a Home City Ice box truck and Toyota car.

According to a press release from the BCSO, the driver of the Toyota, Michael Patrick, 46, of Indianapolis, died at the scene. The driver of the box truck, Luke Thomas, 32, of Indianapolis, was uninjured.

Witnesses stated that the Toyota had crossed the center line and struck the box truck head on.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene to investigate.
