The search is underway for a replacement for the head of school at Traders Point Christian Academy after former leader Ron Evans announced his upcoming departure.

Evans has been with TPCA for four years. On Jan. 1, 2018, he will become CEO of White’s Residential and Family Services in Wabash, a Christian nonprofit organization committed to serving children, teens and families.

In the meantime, the TPCA board of directors has formed a search committee that’s in the early stages of planning. Dave Tinkey, board chair for TPCA and member of the five-person search committee, said the group will enlist the help of a search firm.

“We don’t pretend to know all the answers or know how the process will play out,” he said. “As bumps in the road come up, we’ll look for their expertise and guidance.”

TPCA has an enrollment of 772. The figure marks the fourth straight year of record enrollment, helped by the opening of a separate high school building this year.

“We want somebody who is called here to fulfill our mission, our vision for the next period of time,” Tinkey said.

Tinkey said the primary criteria is to find someone with a deep Christian faith who understands the mission of Christian education. He wants the nationwide search to be complete within six months.

“We have experienced great improvements in the last five and 10 years, and we’re excited about what the future holds for us,” he said.
