A Bloomington-based self-publishing company, Author Solutions bills itself as “the world leader in self-supported self-publishing.” Black joined the firm earlier this month.

“Author Solutions is a pioneer and a true leader in the supported self-publishing industry, which has enabled authors to realize and communicate their stories, ideas and dreams,” Black stated in a press release. “The market is expanding, offering even greater opportunities for us to serve authors and our partners, so I am thrilled to take on this leadership role at this time.”

A Carmel resident, Black joined Zionsville-based MOBI in late 2012. With 25 years of experience in the wireless telecom business, he oversaw MOBI’s transition from a startup to a global leader in the industry.

MOBI is a global mobility management platform that enables enterprises to centralize and control their device ecosystem through the use of cloud software. Its products  help enterprise companies manage all of their connected devices, including mobile phones, tablets, Internet of Things and machine-to-machine devices.

Prior to joining MOBI, Black served in executive and senior sales positions with, among other firms, BrightPoint, PCS Wireless and Verizon Wireless. In March of this year, he was elected president of the Technology Expense Management Industry Association.

Black’s successor as president of MOBI is the company’s co-founder, Josh Garrett, who also serves as a member of the Zionsville Town Council. He most recently was MOBI’s chief strategy officer.

“From our immensely gifted developers to those who serve our customers every day, and everyone in between, we have assembled an extremely talented team of more than 300 mobility professionals,” Garrett stated in a press release. “I look forward to this new challenge as we continue to grow domestically and globally.”
