2-vehicle crash in north Carmel leads to death of driver

A two-vehicle crash in north Carmel led to the death of a driver June 10.

Police responded to the accident at approximately 12:20 a.m. on U.S. 31 near the 146th Street overpass. Their preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2015 Chevrolet Sonic was traveling southbound on US 31 in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a blue 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was towing a trailer.

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are not releasing the name of the driver until the family has been notified.

The driver of the Dodge, 33-year-old Hooman Ramini of Nashville, Tenn., was not injured in the crash. Criminal charges are not expected to be filed.
