Letter: Thank you, Fishers police

Editor,

On June 20, I found my son, 40, at his home deceased. It was the most horrible thing I have ever experienced and every parent’s fear. I called 911 and within minutes, the Fishers Police were there.

There were several police SUV’s, fire truck and two chaplains. I cannot express how wonderful each and every officer was with me and my family and his friends. They treated us with dignity and respect that evening as well as with every contact we have had since then. The chaplains were extremely helpful to all of us and comforting. Lieutenant Rubble has been my primary contact throughout this tragedy and his caring manner meant the world to my family.

I cannot express my thanks for all of them during a very difficult time. With so many negatives things in the press about police, I just wanted to share a story that shows them in a most favorable light.
