More than 100 organizations will descend on the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds the seventh annual Good Samaritan Network Health & Resource Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. April 14.

This free, community event will include registration assistance for HIP2.0, Indiana’s Health Insurance Plan; Caregiver Connection, a place to connect with organizations that provide programs and resources for in-home caregivers; and Partnership for a Healthy Hamilton Co.’s Get Fit!, a specialty area with information and opportunities for physical fitness and activity.

PHHC’s Get Fit! is new to this year’s fair and will feature a path to fitness that includes resources for starting a fitness program, tobacco cessation information, places to exercise, fliers for local walks, runs and 5Ks, and how to access apps for keeping track of progress.

Representatives from local parks and recreation departments will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about amenities and upcoming events.

Attendees can also get a free blood pressure screening, guidelines for good nutrition and enjoy a healthy snack.

“We are excited to offer these resources to our community,” stated Janet Gafkjen, director of Partnership for a Healthy Hamilton Co. “Physical activity and nutrition are key to health and Get Fit! will have information for those just starting an exercise program to the more experienced. Hamilton County has many opportunities to get fit and we want to share them.”

The Partnership for a Healthy Hamilton Co. was created to respond to the county’s primary health needs as identified by a Community Health Needs Assessment, an Internal Revenue Service requirement for not-for-profit hospitals (cdc.gov/policy/chna/). Community Health Network, IU Health, St.Vincent Health, Riverview Health, Franciscan St. Francis Health, Aspire Indiana of Carmel and Noblesville, the Hamilton Co. Youth Assistance Program, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Westlink Consulting and Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton Co. comprise the partnership’s council.

The Hamilton Co. 4-H Fairgrounds is at 2003 Pleasant St. in Noblesville.
