Hamilton Co. residents will have yet another chance to see local concerts as the Cool Creek Summer Concert Series will be returning for the 22nd year.

Concerts cost $5 to attend with lawn seating, and children 12 and under are free. Local favorites such as The Flying Toasters, My Yellow Rickshaw and more will visit Cool Creek for five Fridays in June and July. Performances begin at 7 p.m.

In addition, Cool Creek Park and Nature Center will also feature summer camps for kids, with registration opening March 12 at 10 a.m.

The three camps span across ages 6-13 and vary in prices. For more, visit http://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/426/Summer-Camps.

The Westfield Parks and Recreation Dept. will be implementing some summer changes as well, with Westfield Rocks the 4th the biggest change. The location for the Fourth of July celebration will change from Asa Bales Park to Grand Park.

“As quaint and comfortable as hosting the event at Asa Bales Park has been, we are outgrowing that space and luckily we have another park that’s bigger,” Director Melody Jones said. “With the fourth being on a Monday, it’s not affecting any tournaments. The fireworks display is going to be significant; it’s literally three times the size because we are not limited by shell size anymore.”

Summer Concert Series

  • June 10th – Polkaboy
  • June 17th – The Elect
  • June 24th – Cook & Belle
  • July 8th – The Flying Toasters
  • July 15th – My Yellow Rickshaw

Summer Camps

Explorer Safari: Ages 6-7, June 13-17, 9:30 a.m. to noon, or 1 to 3:30 p.m. $60

Ranger Adventure: Ages 8-10, June 20-24, July 11-15, July 25-29. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $70
