Treetop Outpost will offer Conner Prairie visitors opportunities to engage with natural materials, experience archaeology, create nature-based artwork and explore music with instruments while a nature walk will connect to the prairie through woods along the White River.

But the highlight and centerpiece of the new 10,000-square-foot attraction will be the four-story treehouse offering panoramic views of Conner Prairie’s scenery.

Construction began on the $750,000 project in late October by general contractor Hagerman Group. Treetop Outpost is located in the southwest corner of the history park’s grounds, near the White River, and is expected to open to visitors July 1.

The new attraction was announced at Conner Prairie’s 2016 annual business meeting Jan. 27, at which the park also shared figures from last year while dinosaur paleontologist with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, PBS Kids host and author Dr. Scott Sampson was the keynote speaker.
