For nine years, Andy’s Ride has been held in Zionsville. Andy’s Ride is a charity motorcycle ride and memorial tribute to Andy Buckmaster. Buckmaster was in a motorcycle accident in 2006 that caused fatal injuries.

To commemorate Andy his parents, Candace and Robin Buckmaster, organized Andy’s Ride. This year the event will consist of a motorcycle ride, car and truck show, live music and home cooked food.

The funds raised at the event go toward the Andy’s Ride scholarship. Andy was a professional custom painter and the scholarship honors his memory.

The scholarship is awarded to, “a local student … wanting to gain training and instruction from a technical school,” according to the Andy’s Ride website.

The event is at 9 a.m. July 11. Registration is available online for both the ride and the car and truck show up until the day of the event. Walk-up registration is also available.

The local band The Circle City Train Wreck will provide live music for the second year in a row.

The Circle City Train Wreck lead singer Nick Rebic grew up with Andy.

“The event is really special to me, it’s really sentimental,” Rebic said. “It’s a really fun day to see people you haven’t seen in a long time and remember Andy.”

The Circle City Train Wreck is also performing at the Whitestown Fireworks on July 3.

Candace said there has been a lot of interest in Andy’s Ride and attendance has increased incredibly since the first year.

“The event is for everyone,” Candace said. “It’s not only for people who ride it’s for people who enjoy music, cars or good food.”

The rain day for the event is July 12 at 9 a.m.
