Gracanna Furnas, 90, Lebanon, died May 20 at Signature at Parkwood Health Facility.

Gracanna was born Nov. 1, 1924 at a farm near Scircleville, Ind. She was the daughter of William and Madge (Barron) Baker and the youngest of six children who no longer survive. She was first married to Elbert Revis who died during WWII while serving in the U.S. Air Force.  She married John Furnas in 1946 and they lived in Westfield most of their married life until his death in 1996.

Gracanna or Ann as called by many, graduated from Westfield High School in 1942. She attended ISU, IU, PU and Butler Universities.  She assisted her husband who was the Standard Oil Agent in Westfield; before that time, they co-owned Furnas Feed and Seed in Westfield.

Gracanna was an active member of Westfield Friends Church and enjoyed community activities. She was asked to sing at many events. Her love of painting watercolor pictures brought joy to many and she expressed her love of nature in her artwork. She enjoyed traveling the West and living in the log cabin that she and her husband built in Aspen, Wy. She felt at home in the mountains.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Michael) Cluggish of Lebanon; grandchildren: Amy (Kurt) Crowley of Zionsville, Wade Taylor of Lebanon and Julie Cluggish of Indianapolis; great- grandchildren: Evan and Katie Crowley and Jacob Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, husband John Furnas, son Isaac Furnas who died in 1994, infant daughter Rebecca Furnas who died in 1947 and step grandson Andrew Cluggish who died in 2013.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 23, 2015 for visitation from 1 p.m. until a time of reflection at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate her life in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Gracanna will be laid to rest at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
