Clay Terrace celebrates dog park upgrades with dog adoption fair

Event will take place during National Adopt a Dog Month

October is National Adopt a Dog Month, and Clay Terrace is celebrating with a Dog Adoption Fair, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its newly-upgraded dog park, located between the playground area and St. Vincent Sports Performance.

Individuals and families interested in adopting a dog can learn more from two rescue groups. Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue helps neglected, abandoned, and abused Great Danes find permanent loving homes while educating the public about the breed and responsible pet ownership.

Prison Greyhounds pairs former racing greyhounds with non-violent inmates to benefit both – helping greyhounds learn basic house training so they can be adopted, and giving prisoners a chance to gain new life and job skills before re-entering the community.

Families can bring their four-legged friends to check out some recent improvements to the park, including a double gate and expanded concrete walkway.

There will also be dog treats, toys, and other items available from pet-friendly vendors
