National History Day is a project-based learning program that encourages students to explore their own interests in history, conduct research and create projects in the form of exhibits, documentaries, original dramatic performances, papers and Web sites. These students brainstormed, researched, designed, and created projects related to this year’s theme- Turning Points in History: People, Places, and Ideas which they took to the District competition in March before earning the right to compete at the state contest.

A special congratulations goes out to freshmen Alex Isler and Juliane Tyte who won First Place in the Senior Group Website category for their website- The Disneyland Effect: The Rebirth of the Amusement Industry.  They will represent Carmel High School and the state of Indiana in June at the Kenneth E. Behring National Contest in College Park, Maryland.

If you get a chance, please congratulate these students for a job very well done!
