Why did you become a teacher? My first-grade teacher was so cool. He made learning fun and memorable. I fell in love with that. His love for learning was contagious. I began playing school and became obsessed with school supplies. He and I still see each other from time to time.

What goals do you have for your students? I want my students to be their best selves. I will never claim to be the best teacher, but when my students walk out of my room at the end of the year, I want them to have grown as individuals, be able to demonstrate great citizenship skills and know that no matter what, they are loved.

What do you encourage parents to do at home to help their children strengthen particular skills? Be involved. Everyone says that education is a team effort, but it is so true. Ask your child’s teacher for help. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for helpful tips for home. We are on your side!

What is your favorite movie? I have a ton! Right now, my favorite movies are “Rock of Ages” and “Pitch Perfect.”

Who is your favorite musician or band? I love all types of music. I enjoy classic rock, pop and country the most. I love to sing in the car and go to concerts!

What’s something your students might not know about you? I would love to learn how to salsa dance and ballroom dance. Also, if I wasn’t a teacher, I would love to be a famous singer!
