SullivanMunce Cultural Center Names New Staff and Volunteer Members

The SullivanMunce Cultural Center announces the following new staff members and volunteers:

Cynthia Young has been named Executive Director.   Young, a Zionsville, IN resident has been involved with SullivanMunce for the past five years as the Munce Art Center Director.  Young previously served as a SullivanMunce art instructor, camp coordinator and volunteer. An art professional and interior designer for over the past 20 years, Young sits on the Zionsville Cultural District Board, as the Co-President.

Melissa Fanning has been named the Operations Manger and Museum Director.  Fanning joined SullivanMunce in summer 2010 as Development Coordinator.  Fanning is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Public History from IUPUI and sits on the board of directors of the Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens in Fishers, IN.

Diane Jackson has been named the Volunteer Coordinator.  Jackson is a longtime resident of Zionsville, IN and a current board member and volunteer of SullivanMunce.  Jackson is a retired Clinical Social Worker, who volunteered at the Children’s Museum and taught art at SullivanMunce and Zionsville Middle School.

Roberta Martin has been named the Zionsville Genealogy Library Genealogist.  Martin, a volunteer at the library for the past four years, is a resident of Zionsville, IN and former Tax Attorney.  For the past 15 years, Martin has avidly pursued the hobby of genealogy and is very involved in her church, St. Alphonsus.

Jan Hornaday has been named the Volunteer Director of School Programs.  Hornaday moved to Zionsville in 1997 to raise her family after practicing law at Jenner & Block in Chicago.  She has been involved in the 3rd Grade Zionsville History Program for many years:  teaching in the classrooms, writing curriculum and training volunteers.  She also volunteers with St. Alphonsus, the Indianapolis Rowing Center and the Zionsville youth and high school lacrosse programs.

David Ruffer has been named the Collections Manager.  Ruffer, a Zionsville resident, was the SullivanMunce Collections Manager from 2008-2010.  For 2012 Ruffer graciously volunteered as the Interim Executive Director.   Ruffer has served as the Executive Director for several museums and as president of several universities.  He is also an active member and volunteer for Zionsville Christian Church.

 

SullivanMunce Cultural Center, a non profit 501(c)3 organization, is home to a history museum, genealogy library and art center in Zionsville, IN and features exhibits, events and programs celebrating the culture of a historic town where the past is preserved and the future is embraced.
