Westfield High School graduate Eriq Zavaleta was drafted 10th in the Major League Soccer Superdraft by the Seattle Sounders FC. Zavaleta played his freshman and senior seasons at WHS, scoring 25 goals and nine assists as a freshman and 20 goals and 10 assists as a senior. He was named the 2010-11 Indiana Gatorade Boys Player of the Year. Zavaleta spent his sophomore and junior years as a member of the U.S. Soccer U-17 National Team Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla., where he helped the U.S. advance to round 16 at the 2009 U-17 World Cup and won the Copa Macae in Brazil with the U-17s.

Zavaleta most recently started every game his freshman and sophomore season at Indiana University and helped the Hoosiers win the national championship in December. He also was named the 2012 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
