Early literacy – The WWPL offers a free program for infants age birth through 18 months and their caregivers called Baby Love. Bring baby to the library Thursday and give your child a head start to early literacy with this unique program of rhyme, play and song. You also receive materials to reinforce learning at home. The program begins at 10:15 a.m.
Genealogy Club – Join the Westfield Genealogy Club and share ideas, new websites and sources about family history. The club will meet in the library’s Sumner Room at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Beginning and experienced genealogists are welcome to become members.
Movie time – The next Teen Movie Time at WWPL is “Superman.” The Man of Steel’s life is told from his escape from the planet Krypton and being raised by the Kents, to his days working at the “Daily Planet” and saving lives in Metropolis. The movie is 3 p.m. Feb. 5, and you must be 13 or older to attend.
Free tax assistance – AARP is again offering free tax assistance. Representatives are in the Sumner Room every Friday from Feb. 1 to April 4. You need to call 896-9391 ext. 117 to reserve a spot in advance, and appointments are available between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Mystery lovers wanted – The WWPL’s Mystery Book Discussion Group is talking about “Coyote Wind” by Peter Bowen, when they meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 6. Come join other mystery lovers at a once-a-month discussion group that meets at the library. You are invited even if you haven’t read the book.
Hearts and arrows – Single? Been dumped? Or do you have someone special? Whatever the situation, teens are invited to an Un-Valentine Party at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Make cards (happy or sad), decorate heart cookies, have snacks, and play games. This will brighten up your day, no matter what.
