Activities at Boone County Senior Services now available

As a result of a partnership with Zionsville United Methodist Church (ZUMC), the Town of Zionsville Town Hall and the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville (BAGCOZ) on Mulberry Drive, Boone County Senior Services is now able to offer a variety of activities for seniors in the Zionsville community. Computer, exercise, art classes, etc. as well as van trips are available. Contact Judy or Kirsten at 873-8939 with questions or for more information.

 

Computer Classes

Independent Consultation-$20.00

Every Wednesday –10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. located in the Narthex of Zionsville United Methodist Church (ZUMC).  Do you have a computer project you need help completing?  Instructor John Paulsrud will help you with solutions.  This class if for students who have some computer knowledge.  Makes checks payable to ZUMC.  Space is limited.  Registration is required.  For more information or to enroll contact Boone County Senior Services at 317-873-8939 or 765-482-5220.

 

Exercise Classes

“Fun & Fit for Over Fifty”, every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. til 10:30 a.m. with instructor Josh Dickey, New Energy Wellness Coordinator in the gym at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville (BAGCOZ) on Mulberry Drive.

 

Cards

Bridge and Euchre every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville (BAGCOZ) on Mulberry Drive.  Location will vary based on facility usage.

 

Art Classes

Every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville (B&GCOZ) with local art instructor Shirley Luttrell.  Cost is $5 per class.  Shirley is happy to work with beginners, intermediate students and any medium; oils, acrylics, watercolors.

 

Lunch and Learn

Friday, January 25, noon till 1:00 p.m. Witham Health Services will be joining the Lunch and Learn schedule this year with a variety of topics concerning Senior Health and Wellness.  Lunch, which is free to the first 30 registrants, will be provided by Witham Health Services. Please contact BCSSI to register.  Zionsville residents in need of transportation must contact BCSSI transportation department at 317-873-8939 or 765-482-5220 and speak to Cindy Elliott or Kate Koehler.

 

BCSSI Van Trips

Tuesday, January 24, 9:00 a.m., Tippecanoe Mall, Lafayette.

Van trip attendees must call BCSSI at 765-482-5220 or 317-873-8939 for more information or to sign-up prior to trip departure.  Meet at BCSSI in Lebanon for departure. Zionsville residents:  contact BCSSI Transportation Department regarding possible pick up at Anson. Transportation fees and meal costs are the responsibility of the attendee.  Call BCSSI @ 765-482-5220 to schedule personal transportation appointments.

 

Travel Group

May 29-June 4-Boston, Salem and the New England North Shore

Cost is $ 565 per person based on double occupancy.  Single and triple occupancy prices are also available.  Includes round trip motorcoach transportation, luggage handling and gratuities with Diamond Tours; 7 days, 6 nights lodging; 10 meals; 6 breakfasts and 4 dinners; a guided tour of historical City of Boston, Concord, Lexington and Salem; visit the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, Quincy Marketplace and Cambridge, home of Harvard University. Tuesday, February 12, Horseshoe Casino

Cost is $35 per person due at registration.  Includes round trip on Miller Trailways; $12 food coupon to be used on the property and $5 slot play.  Depart Lebanon at 8:00 a.m.   Please park in the Witham Health Services north parking lot.  Depart Anson at 8:30 a.m.  Please park in the Witham Health Services Emergency parking lot.
