Last night the new Smokey Row Road and roundabout opened just in time for this morning’s rush hour traffic.
According to a press release from the Indiana Dept. of Transportation, whose office is overseeing much of the U.S. 31 road construction, stated that when construction is complete in the 136th Street/Old Meridian section of the road, 136th Street area will function as an interchange underneath U.S. 21.
Alsom, there will be some lane restrictions overnight tonight on U.S. 31 near I-465. Road crews will be setting beams for a new bridge from southbound U.S. 31 to eastbound I-465. Lane restrictions are expected to end by 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.
