Anna’s take: Pier 48 Fish House and Oyster Bar is an excellent place for a date night, especially being right across the street from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Start out with the char-grilled oysters ($12), a beautiful array of East Coast oysters with garlic herbed butter, served with a parmesan crostini, which is perfect to sop up all the juices. Also be sure to try a cup of the New England clam chowder ($5), which is absolutely loaded with clams. For the main event, try either the lobster roll ($17) or the blackened monkfish ($31). The lobster roll is, as the name implies, a roll stuffed with large pieces of cold-water Maine lobster. The roll is a delicious hybrid of Texas toast and a bao bun. Be sure to douse the roll with the melted butter that comes on the side.

The blackened monkfish is definitely for those with a hearty appetite. It is a generous portion of monkfish served over polenta cake with smoked andouille sausage, crawfish tails and etouffee sauce. Finish it off with a piece of the most delicious New York-style cheesecake ever ($7). The cheesecake is made with a sour cream topping and raspberry drizzle.
