Man arrested in Carmel after standoff with police  


One person was arrested early March 4 in Carmel after a standoff with police.

Police responded to the 100 block of Meadow Lane at approximately 11:37 p.m. March 3 after receiving a report of shots fired in the area. They identified Rodney Belcher, 43, as a person of interest, but Belcher initially refused to exit his residence.

After the SWAT team responded, Belcher surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody, according to CPD. He was charged with criminal recklessness, a level 6 felony.

Police do not believe anyone was injured during the incident.
