Grand Park becomes COVID-19 testing site

Grand Park in Westfield will become a COVID-19 testing site May 13 due to a partnership between the Indiana State Dept. of Health and OptumServe.

Those who are symptomatic or have close contacts with confirmed COIVD-19 cases are able to register for an appointment.

“We’re thrilled to be able to support this service along with the State Health Department,” stated Christian Walker, Emergency Coordinator for the Hamilton County Health Dept. “Increased testing for our most vulnerable residents will be key to containing this virus.”

Registration for testing is required. It can be completed online at https://lhi.care/covidtesting or by phone at (888) 634-1116. There is no charge for testing and insurance is not required, but registrants should bring their private health insurance information with them

“The test will involve a swab being inserted into the back of the nasal cavity,” Walker stated. “This is not the most comfortable procedure, but it helps ensure a proper sample is collected. Results will be available in two to three days. Details on how to access those results will be provided to you at the testing site.”.

For those seeking testing at Grand Park, use Door 16 at the Grand Park Events Center only.
