Carmel library, Monon Community Center announce closures

0

The Carmel Clay Public Library and Monon Community Center are among the latest facilities to announce closures because of the new coronavirus.

On March 15 – the same day Hamilton County saw its first diagnosed case – library officials announced that the library will be closed through April 12. It had previously canceled all events and shut down the mobile library.

Patrons may still return items through the library’s exterior return slot. Items in circulation will have their due dates extended until the library reopens and items on hold will be available then.

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation also announced March 15 that the Monon Community Center would close March 16 “until further notice.” Officials will assess the closure on a daily basis.

CCPR will continue paying its full- and part-time staff during the closure.
