Whitestown announced it would close its town facilities starting at 5 p.m. tonight., with facilities expected to remain closed until at least April 6.

The move comes in response to the spread of the new coronavirus and the disease stemming from it, COVID-19.

This closure includes the town’s municipal complex, at 6210 Veterans Drive; all facility rentals and public meetings in the gymnasium and Town Hall; and public restrooms at all Whitestown public parks.

Essential work will still continue, and the restrictions will remain in effect until at least April 6, according to a press release.

“We are in constant communication with our local and state officials regarding this developing situation,” Whitestown Town Council President Clinton Bohm stated. “The health and safety of our staff and residents is of utmost importance, so we felt this precautionary step was necessary.”

Residents seeking to make utility payments are advised to use the drop box located outside the Municipal Complex or to make a payment online.
