Obituary: Denny Woelfel


Denny Woelfel, 83, of Carmel, died Oct. 18. He was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Cincinnati, the second oldest of five children, to Joseph and Catherine Rammacher Woelfel.

Denny worked for Burlington Industries. Before retiring at age 53, he worked for Aris Isotoner. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and Marian College.

During retirement, Denny volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and was involved with the Pro-Life movement.

In addition to his parents, Denny is preceded in death by his brother, Robert T. Woelfel.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann; children Mike (Laura), Denise (Doug) and Cathy (Jon); grandchildren Mitch, Charlie, Sarah, Annabelle, Matthew, Matt, Teddy, Carly, Izzy and Margaret; brothers Joe (Marcia), Jack (Carol Ann); and sister, Lynne (Mike).
