Utility work begins along Monon Greenway

Construction crews have begun clearing the drainage swale on the west side of the Monon Greenway in Carmel’s Midtown area. The work will allow Duke Energy lines to be buried and provide space for drainage infrastructure.

The project includes clearing shrubs, undergrowth and trees between City Center Drive and Elm Street.

The work is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting. The City of Carmel plans to plant new trees as part of the landscaping of the updated Monon Greenway. The trail will remain open during the project.
