Snapshot: Celebrating 70 years

0

The Shortridge High School class of 1947 celebrated its 70th reunion Sept. 16 with a luncheon at Woodland Country Club in Carmel. Out of 650 students in the class, 19 attended along with seven spouses. The event was headed by Carmel resident Dee Cooler (front row, kneeling). Guests discussed what life was like in the ’40s during the World War II years with rationing, no TV, writing daily letters to servicemen and living without many basic necessities available today.
