The theme of Marianne Glick’s upcoming art exhibit is “Joy in Nature.” And for good reason.

“There is an abstract interpretation of nature, so there will be landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in varying degrees of abstraction,” Glick said. “It’s sort of my take of really enjoying spring, summer and the colors of nature.”

The grand opening will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 14 at Meyer Najem Construction, 11787 Lantern Rd., Suite 100, Fishers. The exhibit begins July 7 and is expected to run one month.

Glick, a resident of the north side of Indianapolis, said approximately 30 pieces will be on display. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from each item that sells will go to United Way of Indiana.

This is the first time Glick has had an exhibit at Meyer Najem.

She said a representative from Nickel Plate Arts asked if she would be interested in an exhibit at Meyer Najem, a Nickel Plate arts partner.

“I looked at the gallery space there, and it’s lovely,” Glick said. “I’m thrilled to be able to show my work there.”

In October, Glick will have an exhibit at the gallery at Nickel Plate Arts in Noblesville.

“I’ll have a different theme for that (show),” she said.

Glick has been painting since September 2005. She has had more time to devote to art since closing her business, Glick Training Associates, in 2010. Glick has run her corporate training business for approximately 30 years.

“I love color, and it’s something I enjoy doing,” Glick said of painting. “I was thrilled people actually want to buy my work. It’s a nice side business.”

Glick’s late parents, Eugene and Marilyn Glick, were well known for their philanthropy. Glick is the board chair for Glick Philanthropies.
