An Indianapolis girl is recovering after being struck by an SUV while riding her bike April 30 on the Monon Greenway.

Police said it appears the juvenile was traveling southbound on the Monon and didn’t stop at the 111th Street intersection. She was struck by a white GMC Yukon driven by Sandra S. Blair, 66, of Indianapolis, who was unable to avoid a collision.

Responders transported the girl to Riley Hospital with a lacerated thigh and possible broken bone. She is in stable condition. Police declined to release the age of the juvenile.

Police said alcohol was not involved in the accident.
