The Zionsville Fire Dept. put out a house fire in the 8900 block of Winterberry Drive on March 29.

Upon arrival, ZFD found smoke coming from the roof of the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the home and extinguished it, confining the fire to the attic. The rest of the home suffered smoke and water damage.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire, and their pets were able to safely exit.

ZFD has determined that the fire was accidental and started in the master bathroom exhaust fan.

Whitestown, Lebanon and Pike Township fire departments and the Zionsville Police Dept. assisted with the incident.
