Obituary: Clarence Fred Sherrill


Clarence Fred Sherrill, 86, Noblesville, died Feb. 8. He was born April 23, 1930, to Fred and Dorothy (Abston) Sherrill in Crab Orchard, Tenn.

For 42 years, Clarence worked for Firestone Industrial Products and after retirement worked for Bolden’s Cleaners and Noblesville High School maintenance. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church and Noblesville Senior Citizens. Clarence also enjoyed coaching Babe Ruth and Little League baseball.

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Pam) Sherrill, Jackie (Steve) Chandler, Joe (Chris) Sherrill and Jay (Angie) Sherrill, grandchildren Jason, Paul, Eric, Katie, Anna and Tyler, great-grandchildren Taylor, Dane and Julia, great-great-grandchild Nixon, sisters Mary Lou (Don) Green, Patricia (Garo) Swicegood, Evonne Norman and Elizabeth (Tom) Clouse and brother Charlie (Kris) Sherrill.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by wife Elizabeth Pauline Sherrill in 2011 and three brothers, Glen, Kenneth and Jim Sherrill.
