Feb. 21 is the next deadline to register for the state’s Do Not Call List. Residential, wireless or VOIP numbers may be registered for free to greatly limit the number of calls received from telemarketers.
Visit http://in.gov/attorneygeneral/2445.htm to register by Feb. 21 for the list that will be given to telemarketers effective April 1. The list will next be updated on July 1.
Residents who move after signing up for the list must notify the Attorney General’s Office of their new address and phone number.
To report telemarketing calls made to numbers on the Do Not Call List, call 1-888-834-9969. State law allows representatives from insurance agents, realtors, newspapers and most charities to call numbers on the list.
