Paige Sexton from Shepherd Insurance, LLC, in Carmel, is the winner of the 2016 IIAI Distinguished Customer Service Award.
The award is presented annually in memory of Ethel Heckman, IIAI’s director of administration from 1948 to 1983. Sexton will be presented the award at the IIAI annual convention in November.
The criterion of this award recognizes an employee of a member agency who demonstrates loyalty, dedication to the achievement of results and continued professional growth in the servicing of the agency’s clients.
Sexton has spent her entire insurance career at Shepherd Insurance. The company has grown from 30 employees, when she was first hired, to nearly 200 employees. During that time, she’s worn many hats. From personal lines to commercial, from helping implement an agency management system to educating new employees, she was always willing to step up to the task. After getting licensed in both P&C and Life & Health, she earned her CIC, CRM and CISR designations. She now specializes in the truck dealership industry.
Sexton said she attributes her success to working hard to maintain customer relationships and to continue to learn the most up-to-date information about her changing industry. She also noted that having a supportive employer, like Shepherd Insurance, was crucial to her success.
“I have always felt that establishing a strong relationship with all my clients is a key factor in any customer service position,” she stated. “That, along with having the confidence and knowledge that I am educated enough to adequately address any questions, concerns or issues they may have.”
