Letter: Defending my favorite columnist

0

Editor,

I feel compelled to defend my favorite writer of satire! By definition, satire is “a literary work in which human foolishness or vice is attacked through irony, derision, or wit” (freedictionary.com).

As our Geist writer also does, I read the other columns as well and find some things interesting and many things very dry in our hometown paper. One of my absolute favorite writers is Danielle Wilson, who finds humor and gives us laughs in everyday family activities. Any person who would take the time to write a letter to criticize another human being, much less a satirical author, must be a curmudgeon. Danielle’s humor is self-effacing, light-hearted, witty and filled with daily happenings that we have all experienced! Keep up the good work, Danielle! We look forward to your column every week! Peace out!

Best regards,

Kevin Wagner
