The Noblesville Parks Dept. is offering the community a chance to experience and try a number of programs that will be offered starting this fall.

The free, Rec2Be Active event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Recreation Annex at Ivy Tech Community College (Gate 18). Guests are encouraged to come dressed comfortably to participate in fitness, art, engineering, nature classes and more.

“Rec2Be Active showcases the various programming available through the parks department that the new staff has been developing for the next couple of seasons. The event will allow families to test our programs before signing up for fall classes,” said Noblesville Recreation Director Nichole Haberlin. “Our programming is continuously changing to fill the desires of our community so we also ask residents to share their input on our programs or ones they would like to see.”

The event will feature a main stage with 10-minute class demonstrations of Zumba, Boot Camp, Piloxing, Eccentric Stretch, Self Defense and Aerobic Kickboxing. Family yoga, yoga and Pilates will be offered in the classroom. The new Lunch Power Program, which will be running daily from noon to 1 p.m. beginning Sept. 12, will be in the Wellness Room. A trainer and nutritionist will be there to help work through your personal goals.

In addition to the programming trials, several local health providers like Riverview Health, Hamilton County Chiropractic, Divine Therapeutic Massage and Indiana Podiatry Group will be onsite to provide free checks on blood pressure, height, weight, posture and foot screenings and massages.

Activities that will be available throughout the event include:

  • Try popping balloons using a Fencing sword.
  • Create a rocket with Engineering for Kids.
  • Create a craft with Nickel Plate Arts.
  • Learn & play the popular, new sport of Pickleball.
  • Leave smarter after learning about Nature2Go and the environment.
  • Participate in tumbling and karate demonstrations.
  • Try out the newest Noblesville Parks’ league sport of Bubble Soccer.

No registration is necessary, and the event is open to allow guests to arrive and stay as long as they’d like. For more, call the parks office at 317-770-5750, or visit www.noblesvilleparks.org.
