Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open a new location at 11529 Spring Mill Rd. on June 21 . The restaurant is known for warm sandwiches, hand-dipped milkshakes, and salads and live, local music .
Rachel Poor, the general manager of the new sandwich shop, has been with the brand for more than three years, working her way up from an hourly worker to general manager.
“The community is ready to have a shop in the neighborhood,” Poor stated in a press release . “Many have frequented the shop in Indianapolis, but now there is one in their backyard. With the warm community welcome, we can’t wait to open our doors . ”
Live music has been a part of the Potbelly experience since the first shop opened in 1977. Neighborhood musicians put a little rhythm into lunch at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country.
Interested performers in and around Carmel should contact the new shop manager to apply and to schedule an audition.
“It won’t take long for Potbelly to become the most popular place in town to grab a bite to eat,” Poor stated. “With our wide variety of sandwiches, salads and milkshakes, we have something for everyone to enjoy.”
To celebrate the launch of the new location, Potbelly Sandwich Shop will host its traditional pre-opening ” Oven Warming ” event. The brand will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the event to the Carmel Clay Public Library.
The fundraising celebration will occur between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for lunch and between 5 and 7 p.m. for dinner June 20.
In addition to the Oven Warming event, the new Potbelly Sandwich Shop will consider fundraising requests to support neighborhood non-profit organizations beginning 30 days after opening.
