Letter: Traffic light defeats purpose of roundabout

0

Editor,

I got a good laugh reading the article in the May 10 edition regarding a traffic light at the traffic circle at 136th Street and Keystone. Kind of defeats the purpose of traffic circles, doesn’t it? The best laugh I got was at the end of the article where the city engineer outlines plans to install a traffic circle at 96th Street and Keystone. I’m thinking most people would agree that there is much more traffic at the 96th Street intersection than 136th Street, and that congestion is practically all day long. So, who in their right mind would think that a traffic circle would work at 96th Street?
