Carmel Clay Parks offers summer events for all ages

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation has released its summer events schedule, which aims to provide activities for people of all ages, said Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation Marketing Director Lindsay Labas.

The calendar includes:

High School Waterpark Palooza – May 25 from 8 to 11 p.m.

This is an after-hours event for anyone in high school. Admission requires a high school I.D. and is $5/person.

Family Camp Out – June 3-4 from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Families will preregister online and meet at West Park for a campout. There will be outdoor activities, a scavenger hunt, hot dogs and s’mores included. Cost is $10/person.

Kids Concerts – Every Monday starting June 6 from 10 to 11 a.m.

A variety of bands will be featured throughout the summer, rotating between River Heritage Park and West Park. Families can come to experience live, kid-friendly outdoor entertainment. Admission is free.

 

Member and Summer Camp Appreciation Night — June 25 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Any Monon Center members or Summer Camp Series participants can enjoy the waterpark after hours without having to worry about the masses.

Flow Tour Competition – July 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local and nationally-ranked competitors will come together to compete in a surfing challenge on the flow rider. Fees are listed on carmelclayparks.com.

Ultimate Water Park Olympics – Aug. 6 from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

This is the first year for the Ultimate Water Park Olympics event. Competitions include the flow rider, rock climbing wall, log rolling, balloon tosses, lazy river laps and more. Cost is $5/person.

Touch a Truck – July 20 from 10 a.m. to noon

Carmel High School Stadium parking lot will host school buses, fire trucks, police cars, dump trucks, race cars, motorcycles, and more. Cost is $3/child (under 2 is free).

Preschool Splash Bash – Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parents can bring their preschoolers for a relaxing water park experience. Cost is $6 per child with free admission for adults.

Additionally, a destination playground and splash pad is under construction in Central Park West ready to fit 200 kids at a time. It is scheduled to open in June. For more summer event information, visit www.carmelclayparks.com.
