Where’s Amy sees ‘Phantom’

Where’s Amy? I celebrated actor Chris Mann’s birthday and took a backstage tour of the “Phantom of the Opera” for Current. Mann dazzled Palladium patrons last year at the Songbook Celebration Gala where he sang “Music of the Night,” and praised CEO/President Tania Castroverde-Moskalenko, Michael Feinstein and the community for such a wonderful event and venue. Now in “Phantom of the Opera,” he was phenomenal and stunning in the newly updated version, which blew into town at the Old National Centre. I loved catching up with Mann who is genuine, kind and funny. The day we met was his birthday, the release of his new CD “Constellation” and his 1000th performance as the Phantom. Yep, I hit the jackpot and also had the opportunity to see the beautiful handmade costumes along with the famous “Phantom” chandelier in all its glory. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera” has always been one of my favorites because it is mysterious and magical, as a story of love, adventure and betrayal. Mann, along with his talented cast, mesmerized the sold-out crowds leaving them wondering if phantom ghosts really do exist. Bravo! Be sure to check out Broadway Indy’s new season, which starts back up in November with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” Where’s Amy can’t wait to see you there.
