During his senior year, he was awarded the Ham Rigg Award at the Muncie track invitational, voted on by the coaches, for the most outstanding athlete. He was also a regional qualifier. Eric enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and was a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan. Being on the water, spending time with his family on Lime Lake in northern Indiana was a favorite of his.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Kobe Streit, companion Monica Burris, brother Jeremy (Tarra) Streit, sister Andrea Streit, grandparents Norman and Angie Streit and Roy Bennett, nephew and niece Robbie Streit and Payge Streit, and his beloved dog, Bow.
