A Mt. Vernon Middle School employee is facing felony charges of child seduction after an investigation by the Fortville Police Dept., the department announced in a statement April 1.

Kisha Nuckols, 38, of Fortville, has been employed by the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation for approximately three years as a non-certified teacher’s aide, lifeguard and substitute teacher. She has been charged with two counts of child seduction and one count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors after being accused of having sexual relations with students on multiple occasions, sending explicit pictures of herself to students and attempts to seduce other male students.

Fortville detectives said Nuckols has made contact with several students of former students of Mt. Vernon High School. They were told Nuckols attempted to contact students in August of 2015 and several inappropriate messages and sexually explicit pictures were sent by Nuckols to the students since that time.

According to the Fortville Police Dept. statement, victims said Nuckols would make initial contact with them via social media sites such as Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram and then meet them in person to perform sexual acts with them.

The accusations were brought to the Fortville Police Dept.’s attention March 29 by an administrative member of MVCSC and the two entities have been working together closely since then.

In a letter sent home with students April 4, MVCSC Supt. Dr. Shane Robbins said the alleged employee had been suspended, had her building keys collected and directed not to come on school grounds.

“The employee will be recommended for termination and this will be finalized once ratified by the Board of School Trustees,” Robbins’ letter stated.
