The Carmel Clay Republican Party is holding two nights of candidate forums, giving individuals seeking office the opportunity to address the public on April 12 and 14.

Candidates can introduce themselves and say a few words before answering questions submitted by prospective voters. Those running unopposed for an elected office will also have the opportunity to address the public.

Individuals running for the following seats will participate in the forum on April 12: Hamilton County Surveyor, Hamilton County Auditor, State Representative District 39, Commissioner District 3, State Senate District 20, Superior Court Judge 2 and Hamilton County Commissioner District 2.

The forum on April 14 will offer candidates for these offices the opportunity to speak: Hamilton County Treasurer, U.S. Senate, State Senate District 30, U.S. Representative District 5, Hamilton County Council at Large, and State Representative District 24.

Both forums will be held in the Carmel City Council Chambers and begin at 6 p.m. Questions from the audience will be vetted before the moderator poses them, and candidates’ responses will be limited in time. Light refreshments will be provided.
