Teddy Ward, 75, Noblesville, died March 24 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born March 19, 1941 to Coy and Dolly (Sampson) Ward in Pennington Gap, Va.

Teddy was a tool and die maker who apprenticed at Firestone and then worked for Firestone and Delco Remy (General Motors) for more than 35 years. He spent many of his retirement years as an assistant manager at Griesey Farms Riding Academy, helping with barn construction, riding lessons and horse boarding.

Ted enjoyed horses, of course, but he also liked to putter about, keeping up his house and property, and working with his tools and tractors. He was also a good neighbor and was always there to assist in the neighbor’s building projects and improvement efforts. But most of all, Teddy loved his grandchildren, Gigi, Corbin and Trevor, and also loved the neighbor children who always called him “Grandpa Ted.”

He is survived by his sons, Stephen L. (Jen) Ward of Chicago, Ill. and Teddy Bruce (Michelle) Ward of Los Gatos, Calif.; siblings, Betty Cook of Marshall, N.C., Carl (Sally) Ward of Noblesville, James Ward of Tucson, Ariz., Alice (Larry) Davidson of Ocala, Fla., Martha Sue Commons of Brazil, Ind. and Doloris Kay (Larry) Cecil of Russelville, Ind.; grandchildren, Gigi and Corbin Ward; and step-grandson, Trevor Jolls.

In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by his brothers, Coy Ward Jr. and Robert Ward; and sisters, Mary (Wayne) Aldred, Lois (Lowell) Shoe and Ruth Elizabeth Ward.
