As of Jan. 25, health-conscious Fishers residents have another casual dining option.

Pita Pit has opened at 8935 E. 116th St. in the Fishers Town Center next to McAlister’s Deli. Owner Addison Lusby currently owns another Pita Pit location at 86th and Michigan and the choice of Fishers for his second location was an easy one.

“We have a lot of family that live in the area. Fishers is a growing population,” Lusby said. “There are a lot of younger families. We felt like it was a good fit with the market plus we really like the city. We live in New Palestine, but it seems like we know a lot of people who already live in Fishers or are moving out there.”

A Carmel location was considered, but the idea was quickly scrapped.

“My wife and I went back and forth on the Carmel location because my other location delivers a lot there anyway,” Lusby said. “Ultimately, with the construction we decided Fishers was a better idea. We will go into Carmel next in about a year or so.”

Pita Pit is a casual dining restaurant with a focus on healthy food. Guests can build their own pita bread sandwiches or choose from a variety of menu options.

“Obviously, we’re a really healthy concept,” Lusby said. “We use all-natural chicken. We provide calorie counts on our boards. We use whole muscle turkey. We have actual meats instead of pressed products like other places.”

Guests can order online via PitaPitUSA.com or through the Pita Pit smart phone app. The Fishers location will deliver up to two and a half miles away for a flat $2 fee and offers catering as well.

The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
