The City of Noblesville has announced its community engagement manager, Cindy Benedict, will be leaving her current position to work in concert with the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization to focus on transit in Hamilton County.

The Hamilton County Transit Forum has brought together a diverse group of stakeholders representing municipal governments, businesses, nonprofits and transit experts to develop a workable plan for mass transit in Hamilton County. The forum has been sharing a draft plan with community groups with hopes of having of final plan in 2016. Under Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear’s leadership, Benedict has been the convener of the forum.

“This move allows Cindy the opportunity to handle mass transit issues in Noblesville and Hamilton County in a full-time capacity. I know mass transit is an issue we need to begin addressing and Cindy has shown a passion for it while leading the Hamilton County Transit Forum since it was formed in July 2014,” Ditslear said. “Cindy has done a great job and will continue to represent us during this transition so her mass transit work will move forward in a more concentrated fashion. We wish her the best and thank her for the service and work she’s done for the city.”

Benedict has worked with the City of Noblesville since January 2012. Her last day will be Nov. 6.
