The Nash, Pedcor’s next building in its Carmel City Center plan, now has tenants moving into the $10 million project.
Residential units are 60 percent leased with prices starting at $1,179 and up for one, two and three bedroom units. Most residents have already moved in.
The Nash includes 30 apartments and about 10,000 square feet of commercial space.
Retail makes up the first floor of the three-story structure and two tenants are opening soon. Graeter’s, a popular Cincinnati-based ice cream franchise with locations in Fishers and the Butler/Tarkington area of Indianapolis, is now open. Graeter’s is occupying 2,032 square feet of space.
The Art of Home & Kitchen, which will sell luxury cookware, tables, décor, food items and more, has not announced an opening date yet. It occupies 4,550 square feet of space. This means 70 percent of the retail space has been released with room left for about two more businesses. Interested leasers have been speaking with Pedcor about the remaining spaces.
“We really seek out retail tenants that are one-of-kind destinations,” said Jimia Smith, vice president and marketing director for Pedcor. “Not only will these businesses compliment what’s around going on in phase one of the City Center but residents living above can take a short walk to enjoy some great ice cream or go shopping.”
Residents for The Nash will have access to the City Center Phase One fitness center, a conference room and a business center. There also is valet dry cleaning, secured access, private garage parking and the nearby Monon Trail.
Construction began in 2013 at 836 S. Range Line Road and the city of Carmel contributed $2 million in tax increment financing to build a $2.5 million parking garage with 44 spaces for tenants. There are also 40 nearby surface spots and the parking garage at the nearby Carmel City Center.

The store will sell everything from dining tables and luxury cookware to gourmet coffee and chocolates. Brands carried include Juliska, Nambé, Red Vanilla, Zuo Mod and much more. The store will also offer complimentary tastings throughout the week.

The regional chain makes ice cream using the “french pot” method, which is a slow, small batch process making only two gallons at a time in order to create ice cream that is rich, creamy and dense. Graeter’s was founded in 1870 by Bavarian immigrants and now has 50 locations across five states. Pints are sold in local grocery stores with one of the most popular flavors being the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip.
